As a new owner of this product, I have a few points for the intended user of the GXR Mount A12 review :
1 NOT A STANDALONE PRODUCT
This is a system product it is part of a system and requires the Ricoh GXR body module to and a compatible M-mount interchangeable lens to work ;
2 DESIGNED TO WORK WITH LEICA M-MOUNT LENSES & M-MOUNT COMPATIBLE LENSES
It is a lens-sensor mount, it is part of a camera body built & designed to work with Leica "M" mount interchangeable lenses available since 1954. Today it works with most Leica-M, Zeiss ("ZM"), Cosina Voigtlander (CV) M-mount and where compatible certain LTM or Leica Thread Mount (LTM)lenses with the appropriate M-mount adaptors. I like the results I am getting, and my images are simply superb... I did consider getting the Sony's NEX 7 (to be released later in mid November), but decided that smaller digital files, silent shutter, no AA filter and small lenses (Leica and Zeiss ZM) make this unit a superior 'street shooter' option... If you like the manual focus lenses, the focusing system the unit offers works well... I would like to see a better view finder which is not very good and thus I decided to not to buy it... But so far, I am having a 'blast', and the system works well as street camera, which makes shooting on the streets of New York such joy.

I've returned it because something was seriously wrong with the shutter in bright light...would completely malfunction. Indoors, worked well and photo quality was superb due to the lack of AA filter (look it up if you don't know what it is). I've thought seriously about repurchasing but I do believe the Sony NEX-5N with Leica M adapters is a better solution (and WAY cheaper), even though Ricoh menus and overall handling is best of the best...Sony still has work to do on their menu tree/system. Maybe Ricoh will introduce an A16 (16MP) version of this module...I'll definitely reconsider it then.
